The NDIS has been plagued with accusations of excessive expenses, mismanagement, and fraudulent activities, which has led to increasing demands for a system overhaul. Recently, Bill Shorten proposed a comprehensive reform during a pre-budget speech to the national press club in Canberra, emphasizing that the NDIS has lost its way.  While a panel of experts has been examining the 35 billion dollar scheme and is expected to submit a report later this year, Mr Shorten believes that a fresh policy direction can provide better outcomes for individuals with disabilities and ensure the NDIS’s future stability.

“We’ve got to update our system so that people with a disability only have to tell us their story once”. – Mr Bill Shorten, Minister for Government Services of Australia

Tanya knows all too well how NDIS operates and speaks with presenter Anna Moulder around Bill Shortens recent statement and the potential impact it may have.
